CISMAT was supported by result UK to work with youth leaders in Sierra Leone to promote health and wellness through targeted advocacy efforts. The project empower youth leaders with the knowledge and skills to address key health issues affecting their communities, such as Malaria, TB prevention, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health. Youth leaders were trained on health-related topics, advocacy strategies, and effective communication methods to engage their peers and the broader community.
The intervention is focus on organizing community outreach activities, such as health awareness campaigns, workshops, and peer education sessions, where youth leaders can share vital information and advocate for healthier behaviors. Additionally, they will engage in policy advocacy, pushing for improved healthcare services, access to TB prevention and treatment, and better mental health resources. Through these efforts, youth leaders will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of wellness, reducing stigma, and encouraging the adoption of healthier lifestyles in Sierra Leone.
