Beneficiaries
CISMAT’s community TB interventions focus on the following key affected TB beneficiaries:
- Children under five years old in contact with bacteriologically confirmed TB patients, particularly for Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) uptake.
- Pregnant women exposed to TB, ensuring they receive short-course TPT like 3HP and 1HP.
- Household contacts of TB patients, especially those in resource-limited settings, to address barriers to TB prevention and treatment.
- Slum dwellers and individuals living in overcrowded or poorly ventilated environments, which increase exposure to TB.
- Internally displaced people, undocumented migrants, and refugees, who face challenges in accessing TB care.
- People in prisons and other congregate settings with a high risk of TB transmission.
- People with disabilities and other marginalized groups with limited access to TB services.
Caregivers and parents of affected children, who are educated to improve knowledge and uptake of TB prevention and treatment services.
These interventions aim to reduce TB burden, improve access to care, and address systemic barriers affecting TB Key and Vulnerable Populations (KVPs).
